Terms and Conditions of Use

The Asset Valuation Management System (AVMS) Online is a restricted site. Only authorised Department of Housing and Public Works staff and contracted valuation firms are permitted access. The information contained in this system is confidential and every effort must be made to ensure this confidentiality is maintained.

By logging in to the site, you are confirming that you are an authorised user of the Department of Housing and Public Works Asset Valuation Management System Online, that you agree to maintain the confidentiality of information contained within the system and acknowledge that the Department of Housing and Public Works accepts no liability if the information is used for purposes other than those intended.

All login attempts are recorded by the Department of Housing and Public Works (whether successful or not) and include UserID, date and time, and IP address.

Logins will be temporarily deactivated after five unsuccessful attempts.

User accounts for AVMS Online are to be disabled by a company master immediately upon departure of staff.

Passwords

• Users are responsible for ensuring that they keep their individual password confidential. Passwords should never be written down unless in an appropriately secure format or process.
• All system users are required to reset their passwords when there is a suspicion or indication of possible security or login compromise.
• Passwords must not be included in any automated logon process, such as a stored macro or function key.
• Passwords based on any of the following should be avoided:
  • months of the year, days of the week
  • family names or initials
  • car registration numbers
  • company names
  • telephone numbers, or
  • a user ID.
